Awwwards: is it for every website?

You might be wondering:
Can anyone submit their site to Awwwards? Or is it only for big, muscular, well-known designers and agencies?

One thing’s for sure: if your site doesn’t have an impressive, creative design and amazing content, and all you’re looking for is to win, the answer is clear… then NO.

But there are two good reasons why you might want to submit your site to Awwwards:

  1. Feedback: You’ll get genuinely interesting information from specialist users about your site, whether they like the design, creativity, usability, content… valuable information you can use to improve and keep progressing.
  2. Backlink: This sometimes goes unnoticed, but having a link to your site on an important site like Awwwards does often help improve your positioning on Google and other search engines.

About the prize

To celebrate, the guys at Awwwards have given us 5 free standard submissions (worth 25 EUR each) so you can submit your latest web projects to be evaluated by the Awwwards user community and international jury, made up of some of the best designers, bloggers and agencies worldwide.

The best sites will appear as “Site of the Day” and will be included in Awwward’s annual book “The 365 Best Websites Around the World”, bringing the prestige, recognition and visibility that these extraordinary, creative and innovative websites deserve.

  1. While i create my own website, i always take a look at the newest trends on awwwards. You can follow the newest trends in webdesign on awwwards and get inspired by other websites. The Blog shows you different and helpful tipps. I use Awwwards for a long time and want to register my own website, if the site is finished…

    Here’s my tweet: https://twitter.com/dTWebDesigner/status/272991339912761344

  2. The new responsive design is the thing i like most! also the percent wheel of jury member is great too.

  3. New awwwards website rocks! Its a sustainable design with responsiveness and I love the negative space in the header with clean icons. And the way you represented the scores is classic…!!! Keep Going!

  4. I love the design and the quality of websites. There are so nice inspiration for me and my work.

  5. I like ‘Status’ of a User. Our vote counts too and are rewarded for Privileges. That’s great and I agree, Responsive is awesome too. The Favorites gallery page is one which I wanted for a long time. I also feel that the gap has been filled for the Non Jury folks 🙂

  6. Awwwards is an excellent resource for us. Would love to be able to feature our new site (when it is done) on there!

  7. I loved the percent animations on the homepage. Everything achieved with a couple of divs, some border radius and css transitions – pretty slick. If not a free submission, at least another thing learned today. Thanks codrops.

  8. Where the the old Awwwards design was great the responsive design of their new one is just brilliant. As well as a re skin they manage content much better putting more focus on the nominees section and the voting system. The colour pallet is minimal enough to allow the sites submitted to do the talking. Plain and simple, it works amazing and looks awesome!

The only thing I noticed is that at a break point of 750px the filter bar is set to ‘display:none;’ Im not a fan of hiding content or functionality from users. However I appreciate that at smaller devices this functionality may not be deemed focused to user needs or difficult to implement to the detriment of user experience. In saying that the filtering system does work incredibly well!

    Keep up the great work!

  9. While Building Web projects it is always good to discuss it’s progress with an experienced comunity. I do like Awwwards design very much! It’s self-explaning and easy to use, and it feels little bit Retro, which I like 🙂

Getting this giveaway would help me greatly 🙂

    Thanks 🙂

    Mikhael

  10. I love awwwards website, for a long time now I’ve gone there to see what other designers are creating and to find Inspiration for my own designs. The only downside is that I spend hours looking at the great work others are doing, and not spending the time doing it myself.

  11. Awwwards is a really good way to stay in touch about the Web’s evolution, and seek inspiration. 🙂

  12. Awwwards is the recognition that is given to all good web designers to do the web a better place. No service could be better. They are great!

  13. It’s been a great site to find inspiration but also to know what gets done out there. It helps me to always push myself out of the box
