👹 Fun fact: Krampus, a horned figure from Alpine folklore, partners with St. Nicholas during Advent. On the evening of December 5th, they visit children, with St. Nicholas rewarding good behavior and Krampus punishing misbehaving kids with birch rods. The figure’s origin is unclear, possibly pre-Christian. In Krampus parades, young men dressed as Krampus aim to frighten audiences. These events are an annual tradition in many Alpine towns, and Krampus is also depicted on holiday cards known as Krampuskarten.
